hidden oasis of Batam

Here's a peek into what I've been up to since exams ended! (Besides busying myself with AlwaysLilea stuff). Went on a short getaway with the sister and the mom at this really cool resort.
It's actually a boutique resort that only has 7 themed suites - Japanese, Bali, Thai etc. I stayed at the Sultan Room! ^^

We wanted to book the Thai or Bali room initially, but they were taken already, so the person suggested the Sultan room for us. This room is big enough for 5 people. Perfect for my family if everyone went, there's even a jacuzzi inside the room, and when you open the side door, the swimming pool is just outside! Cool shits.

When we reached, we immediately went for a refreshing 3h spa. The next two days we also had an additional 2 hours of spa. It's truly a retreat to recharge after the tiring school semester and work life for my mom and sis! Altogether I tried the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, Balinese massage, Hot Herbal Compress, body scrub and honey & oatmeal facial. SGD75 for 3 hours (included in package), much cheaper than what you pay in Singapore. I don't think I've ever done spa locally before.

After the 3h spa we had their famous beer can chicken, which is basically a huge-ass chicken sitting on a beer can. No beer taste at all, and the meat was dry, so no recommendation there. But the mee goreng was super yummy.

Had American breakfast the next day. The resort is quite small so it's not buffet-style; everyone gets a set, but it's more than enough. The town is 15min drive from the resort so we booked a cab and went to Nagoya Hill. We then spent the next hour buying lingerie, because it's cheaper than buying in SG haha! Bought a year's supply there ^^

Had lunch at Golden Prawn which some say is a tourist trap. Prices are indeed slightly on the high side, but we found the food to be fresh, good, and tasty.

At night we had the indonesian platter which the serving was so damn huge it could feed my whole family. Some dishes were cold though, but overall I still liked it. Basically this was just a short retreat, just relax, eat, have spa, shop around with the mom and sis. Nice!! I would really recommend for couples, girlfriends, and families also. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the design of the place is Bali/Thai style, filled with lush greenery.  But take note that for the spa at times you'd be near naked! In case you're going with shy girlfriends or your bf/gf haha!

always,
lea
